Our A Forever Recovery program strives to give clients a positive environment to help him or her face and overcome their problems with addictions. Our facility is located at 216 St. Mary’s Lake Road in Battle Creek, Michigan. Perched on 14 beautiful acres overlooking a private lake, this 60,000 sq. ft. building is the ideal location for anyone who needs to escape from the frenzied world of addiction.
Upon arrival at our facility, you will notice a tranquil and inviting setting that gives a sense of serenity and peace. Upon entering the facility, you will enjoy a comforting environment where you can relax and let go of stress and fears. Warm colors and earth tones surround clients with a feeling of being nurtured. Our therapy rooms, lounges and walkways were designed to avoid giving a “clinical” feel, because we believe clients are more inclined to remain in the program if they feel comfortable with their surroundings. Staff members are available right away to help familiarize you with our program and with the facility itself, and to let you know you will not be alone in this endeavor.
Our facility also offers clients a secure environment that allows no access to substances of abuse. By removing clients from the negative surroundings that contributed to their drug abuse, they are not confronted by temptations and this allows them to focus entirely on healing. With a careful balance of education, nutrition, fitness routines, and counseling, clients gain the skills and knowledge required to enjoy a drug-free lifestyle outside the program. Within our walls, clients find everything they need from a fitness center, media center, game room, music and art center, dining area, quite areas for meditation, and much more.

Discovery Academy boarding school serves students ages 13-17. We offer the best of both worlds – separate programs for boys and girls with opportunities for appropriate co-ed interaction. Our student body is limited to a small number of boys and a small number of girls.

At Discovery Academy, academics, residential living, and therapeutics are all built on an experience based foundation. In each area, our students learn by doing. We focus on building relationships, respect and responsibility.
Using this boarding school model, we help students discover their true potential, rekindle their love for learning and prepare for post-high school educational opportunities.

Tranquil and quiet, our residential adolescent treatment center in Commerce is the perfect therapeutic environment for an adolescent working through issues of substance abuse and eating disorders. Each teen needs to feel comfortable and rested in order to begin their recovery.
It’s hard work, but we support them both through our physical environment and structured days of therapy and academics. Our Commerce treatment facility offers three levels of care: inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization. This allows each teen to receive treatment with the right amount of structure and monitoring at a particular point in their healing process. In addition to providing professional and experienced care for adolescents with substance abuse issues, we are an eating disorder treatment center.
Our adolescent treatment center in Commerce has a modern, bright kitchen with granite top counters, perfect for learning how to cook and enjoy meals in a healthy way. This is a critical part of healing and positive life change for our teenage clients with anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorders. Teens at our Commerce treatment facility often have complex problems that combine a substance abuse issue (such as food or drugs) with an emotional or psychological problem. At Adolescent Growth, we are proud of our ability to provide expert mental health services.
There’s no need to continue suffering today and just as importantly, risk more serious future physical and emotional conditions that result from prolonged and untreated periods of stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Yet, even though we've personally witnessed the tremendous and sustainable gains our clients have achieved over the years, we understand that it's often hard to arrive at a decision to seek counseling, for many reasons.
However, we also recognize that most men and women find it easier to make difficult decisions like this when they're armed with accurate information from a trusted source, like Nassau Guidance and Counseling. Since 1960, Long Islanders have relied on our experts to help them reach their highest potential: emotionally, mentally, interpersonally, occupationally, spiritually, and socially. We hope you will as well.
And you’ll never have to worry unnecessarily over stressful administrative details, because we’ll guide you through the entire process, and even make sure that you receive the maximum benefits allowed by your insurance carrier.

At Center for Hope of the Sierras, we believe those struggling with eating disorders are unique, creative, caring, and sensitive individuals who may struggle to find a connection with their true inner spirit. To recover from an eating disorder, the individual must develop a sense of their own spirit and self, and a belief that their emotions are valid, important, and worth noticing.
Our philosophy is that it is the individual’s right to define a sense of self. Our treatment program emphasizes the need for individuals to cope with the complex emotions that cause them to doubt this right. Our program also emphasizes the important of taking care of one’s physical and psychological needs which helps individuals experience themselves as valid and competent human beings.
At Center for Hope, individuals are encouraged to redefine life on their terms rather than on cultural pressures to pursue a body size and shape that denies physical needs. Center for Hope of the Sierras offers treatment emphasizing a therapeutic alliance, the opportunity to explore and challenge negative or harsh thoughts and assumptions, as well as extensive opportunities for self-exploration, self-expression, and the development of new coping strategies. Health of mind and body well-being will begin to evolve as one’s sense of self begins to emerge. At this point true healing can begin.
Individuals with eating disorders cannot build a sense of self when they feel trapped within their symptoms. Many individuals with eating disorders are able to temporarily stop engaging in self-destructive behaviors during short term treatment in controlled settings, only to return to old patterns upon returning home. Though they have started to work through many important issues, they may not have fully unraveled the emotional distress fueling their condition. For this reason, we generally recommend a two to three month stay to fully incorporate the many aspects of treatment and to allow the therapeutic alliance to embrace its full power. Center for Hope of the Sierras offers step-down opportunities for treatment locally or we will work with the individual to pursue lower levels of care within their chosen community. Center for Hope of the Sierras also offers a free online recovery support through eGetgoing to assist in the individual’s return to daily life.
