A New Journey Eating Disorder Center® is the first Partial Day Treatment Program and Intensive Outpatient Program with transitional living in Santa Monica, California to offer a unique array of treatment programs for adults and adolescents suffering from eating disorders. Our programs are designed and conducted by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with years of experience in the field of eating disorders, mental health, addictions and compulsive disorders. A New Journey Eating Disorder Center offers innovative treatment options for clients who do not require residential care and for those who need continuing care following the completion of inpatient treatment.
A New Journey’s primary focus is to ensure emotional and physical well being from destructive eating, self-destructive behaviors and negative thinking. Treatment programming consists of a combination of specialized groups, nutritional meal planning, supervised meals, meal processing and educational presentations designed to support the recovery process.
The hallmark of A Bridge to Recovery is our unique ability to look at the whole person and create a treatment program designed for the client. Many other programs treat only the symptoms of addiction. A Bridge to Recovery's staff identifies and addresses the core patterns and issues that have caused continual return to self-destructive behaviors. In addition to our therapists' ability to provide patients with a powerful and effective treatment experience, many of the staff at A Bridge to Recovery are in recovery themselves. This has proven invaluable when people walk through the doors for the first time with feelings of hopelessness and despair or return from a relapse with the shame and anger. Just knowing that there is someone who has been there and is now recovering can make all the difference.

Our mission is to provide effective treatment services and a safe, sober living environment to women suffering from the disease of alcoholism or who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs and to introduce them to the philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous and the 12-Step process.
Casa Serena opened its doors to alcoholic women in August of 1959 primarily through the efforts of our founder Mildred Pinheiro. Recovering from alcoholism herself, Mildred wanted to open the home “because there was no place here for a woman alcoholic to go for help.” Casa Serena was originally a project of the National Council on Alcoholism, but became a separate 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in 1973.
There’s no need to continue suffering today and just as importantly, risk more serious future physical and emotional conditions that result from prolonged and untreated periods of stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Yet, even though we've personally witnessed the tremendous and sustainable gains our clients have achieved over the years, we understand that it's often hard to arrive at a decision to seek counseling, for many reasons.
However, we also recognize that most men and women find it easier to make difficult decisions like this when they're armed with accurate information from a trusted source, like Nassau Guidance and Counseling. Since 1960, Long Islanders have relied on our experts to help them reach their highest potential: emotionally, mentally, interpersonally, occupationally, spiritually, and socially. We hope you will as well.
And you’ll never have to worry unnecessarily over stressful administrative details, because we’ll guide you through the entire process, and even make sure that you receive the maximum benefits allowed by your insurance carrier.
So please take the first step towards a better tomorrow and call us today at: 516-221-9494.
