The Roque Center was founded in March of 1972 as a nonprofit corporation by a group of caring men and women whose lives had been touched, in one form or another, by alcoholism or drug addiction. Our mission and vision remains: “To help those who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction and provide them access to affordable substance abuse treatment, while turning no one away for lack of ability to pay.”
Our 12-step based approach to recovery focuses on affecting positive change in the client’s lifestyle and behavior through education, group process, one-to-one counseling, exposure to alternative coping skills, and positive role models. With the realization that recovery is a process and not an event, our social model peer-oriented and home-like recovery program is designed to assist men and women in developing a foundation for long term recovery.
Since 1972 we have helped over 34,000 individuals receive the quality care and treatment they deserve.
Empathic Recovery is an intensive outpatient rehabilitation program in Palm Beach County for those struggling with substance abuse addiction. We combine the traditional 12 step model with a variety of other methods designed to fully address any and all issues that may be related to your addiction problems.
Methadone has been used in opiate treatment programs in the United States for more than 40 years. During that time, this medication has been strictly regulated and closely studied. As a result, we have decades’ worth of research to confirm that, when used as directed under the care of a qualified and licensed professional, methadone is both safe and effective.
While Suboxone has a shorter history in opiate treatment (it was approved for use in the United States in 2001), similar protocols and studies indicate its safety when used as directed and under proper supervision.
Client safety is our top priority. We will work closely with you to ensure that you are receiving proper dosage levels, and that your recovery is progressing safely and effectively.

At Wyoming Recovery, a patient may begin treatment at residential or outpatient levels of care, depending on the assessment of multiple dimensions, such as: need for detoxification, presence of complicating physical or emotional symptoms and level of support in home/work environments. Typically, a patient will transition from one level to another depending on progress, there is not a fixed length of stay. We offer the following levels of care:
DETOXIFICATION: Medical monitoring and support for patients experiencing or anticipating significant withdrawal symptoms. Medications are prescribed when necessary and patients are cared for in a 24-hour setting.
RESIDENTIAL: Seven days per week programming in supervised, 24-hour housing, with our full range of therapeutic and educational services.
PARTIAL DAY/EVENING TREATMENT: This treatment option follows most or all of the residential schedule but is for patients who do not require 24-hour care and who will spend nights at home.
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM: Provides nine or more hours a week of group and individual therapy while living at home and possibly continuing to work. This can be the level of entry to treatment or a transition from residential treatment.
CONTINUING CARE: As a part of the relapse prevention program, continuing care offers weekly group sessions while allowing time to integrate back into a life of sobriety.
CLINIC: Both doctors see patients in the office for sobriety enhancing medications, such as Suboxone and pain management, plus psychiatric care.
