Welcome Newcomer!

You have found an incredible supportive e-family of recovering people who are eager to share their experience strength and hope with one another.  "Well that's fine and well" you might say, "but how do I connect with you people?"  Here are some choices available to you!

1.  Write a post in the Newcomers Forum.  Introduce yourself, share a little about your life and where you are on the journey in recovery.  You are welcome here whether you are considering a clean an/or sober life, concerned about another's well-being or have 25 years of recovery.

2.  Respond to an already posted topic.  Did you relate to something someone wrote?  Have an opinion?  Idea?  Please share.  Simply click on the Quick Reply at the BOTTOM RIGHT hand corner of the last post.

3.  Wish to privately share a comment or question with another member?  Simply find the person's name anywhere on site and click on it.  You will be taken to their site home page.  Scroll down aways and send a  Private Message and click.  You will be taken to an e-mail type page where you can write your private message.  When finished, click the send button on the bottom, and it will be sent to their Inbox.

NOTEYou will find we regulars refer to a Private Message as a "PM".

4.  See a number besides (0) next to your Inbox on the TOP RIGHT hand corner of the sober.com page?  Someone has sent YOU a message.  Click on your Inbox to see and read.  Follow directions akin a typical e-mail and respond back if you wish.

5.  Wanna Chat?  It's the 6th option from the top on the LEFT SIDE of the page.  Click on Chat, then on 2nd option MAIN CHAT ~ and you'll enter the room.

  • Some folks choose to go into Chat and wait for others to arrive.
  • Some will schedule a time to meet in Chat by exchanging a PM.
  • Some will jump in for Friday Happy Hour CHAT (each and every Friday afternoon).  It's up to you.

Remember, the sober.com Chat Room is a public place for our members, anyone can join in at their leisure.

So glad you're here!  Hope you choose to keep coming back!Smile

This is excellent Jhe T.

Back when we did the whole change over to the new sober.com...I could have really used this info...but of course, none of knew what we were doing...It was just so good of you to help the newcomers this way.  I give credit where credit is due...and you get a pat on the back.

Bravo

Just thought this info would be helpful for those Newcomers who are just logging on and would appreciate some direction (like I needed!).   If anyone has ideas or recommendations for alterations, eliminations or additions ~ please let me know!
