Aloha,I'm new here and would like some help from anybody who has taken or is taking suboxone, has anybody experienced headaches, dry itchy eyes and fatigue, all 3 of these are driving me nuts,it's getting better but still tough to deal with,I have 43 days clean from opiates and I quit smoking 5 weeks ago

I'm taking 3 mgs of Sub a day,I was taking 4 until today then I drop to 2 mgs in a week to 10 days

Thanks in advance,Aloha

I don't have personal experience with that drug, but have you checked it out on google.com? Aloha.

Yeah I looked it up and it says headaches are common along w/ fatigue but the dry eyes is on the least common list, just was wondering how other people made out while they were taking it,as far a doing it's job for the opiate wd's it's a Godsend but the side effects are kinda tough to deal with,I only have to take it another 3-4 weeks Thank God

I have been taking suboxone for a year (24mg per day), and the side effects for me are urine retention, constipation, and very hard to get up in  the morning, its like Im in a coma, trying to get awake. I take 2 when I get up, and 1 before bed.  They have been great though

welcome aloha, i recently was in the hospital detox center only for 7 days though.  i had been using methadone 60mg a day and i entered a suboxone clinic. like i said i had only had 7 daily dosages but i do agree that they do help with the cravings and withdrawals. not too sure of side effects i do know when i was released i had a hard couple of weeks, wish i could have continued suboxone because i just still am still sickly. good luck keep in touch.

Headaches i get daily....a lot worse if I decide to smoke weed or a couple cigarettes. My body aches sometimes (could be from working out). The key is...Fresh vegetable juice EVERYDAY!!! I go to the vitamin shop and get fresh squeezed carrots, apples, beets, celery, ginger, parsley etc...it makes all the difference in the world.Im not a doctor or anything like it ,but it helped out.I was into Vicodin,Norco,Lortab, then that eventually progressed into smoking heroin off foil.DISGUSTING!!! I never in my life would of ever thought I would be doing that ***.But Suboxone, mixed with fresh juice and a healthy diet, moderate exercise(even just walking or sitting in the steam room) will make all the difference.Good luck to everyone out there. Its a long dark road some of us have been on.Thank God for Suboxone

Welcome! All those side effects were normal for me when I was on Suboxone. I only took it for a month and was weened off of it. Once I put on smaller doses the side effects lessened too.

I'm on the final end of my Suboxone taper, I'm down to 3 mg a day, tomorrow 2 mg for 2 days, then 1 mg, then off.  I start outpatient treatment this evening 5 days a week for one month to solidify my return to full sobriety.

I'm not sure how I feel about Suboxone, I was put on it last October because for most of '07 I kept relapsing every 30-90 days on pain meds.  But I have been enslaved to Suboxone in the same way.  I had a deep suicidal depression a month ago that caused me to get off my duff and go to the Dr and start tapering, and that's when I signed up for outpatient treatment as well.  Mr Aloha, if you're still around, shoot me a PM like in the old days (well, last summer anyway) :)

Welcome, Lindaloo!

Welcome and thank you for sharing.  We have a great group of people here.  You shared about your use of suboxone, and I was curious to see whether you have visited any narcotics anonymous meetings in your area?

Hope to see you posting again soon.  Take care,
Clint

Linda,

Sorry to hear you are sick.  If you feel comfortable in AA, then more power to you!  AA is a great fellowship, and you will definitely find the support you need in the rooms.  If you ever want to talk to any of the active members, just private message (PM) one of us.  We do have a chat feature that we can access.

Take care,

Clint
