The thread of the A,B, C's of Recovery is a wonderful and useful tool.Another might be to consider the A,B,C's of Relapse and keep that handy as well.

A=Anger

Another great idea Eileen!! 'F' stands for FEAR. The core of our disease. Also for 'F*** it' - the left hand turn on the road that ends in jails,institutions, and death. Then there's 'Fake' - which is dishonest. Then there is 'False' which is untrue. We need to be true to ourselves.

It's always OK in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end.

Unrelated to relapse, Janice, F = FANTASTIC YOU!

Onto G....GOSSIP (judging and taking someone else's inventory)

               GRANDIOSITY (overstated feeling of my own importance)

               GUILT  (by not making amends to ourselves and/or to others we hold ourselves back from healing)

L - One of the BIG ONES! Stands for Lust - that character defect that the disease expresses its insidiousness through. Harmful but enticing and seductive!!! Sometimes the disease has me thinking that lust is one defect I'm not sure I want to get rid of because it feels good. Also....

Livid - that level of anger I find myself in sometimes where, if I don't practice the program the results could be disastrous. Check yourself before you wreck yourself!!!

Light - if you're not in it, then you are in relapse. The disease dies in the light. It is the exposure to light that kills it. Stay in the light, or DIE........your choice.

It's always OK in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end.

Maintenance and Management. Addiction is a chronic disease that can't be cured. If we don't maintain and practice the tools we learn to manage the disease for the rest of our lives, we will relapse and potentially go to jail, be institutionalized, or die.
