Through the grace and mercy of my Higher Power(whom I choose to call God)on this date December 2nd ,1984,(it was a Sunday morning)I "came to" for the last time as I cried for mercy and totally surrendered to the disease....God's grace,the daily working of spiritual principles through my fellowships,doing the "work" and giving back,keeping what I have by giving it away..I celebrate life with 26 years of uninterrupted sobriety and freedom from the active use of all mind altering mood changing substances!I am only a vessel of hope and the proof that living a life clean/sober can be an attraction to those who are still suffering.We do recover ,a day at a time and our spiritual awakening comes from a new understanding of our Higher Power developed by sharing with another addict in recovery..This is not a coronation of me,for I will still be calling my sponsor,placing my trust in God,working in the "solution" and giving back if tomorrow is granted,but a celebration of life "even if you have 1 day clean,a miracle by any call!I am truly blessed by the support of this forum,the people here I lift up in my daily meditations and contact with my GodlThank you for sharing in my recovery as I share in yours and remember,KEEP COMING BACK.... If God is for us,who can be against us??

Congratulations on your 26 years sober! That is quite an accomplishment! Good to hear from you. I was starting to wonder if any one still used this site. I hope your wife and you are doing well.
