Hello Family! Yes Paw is absolutely correct,we are here for each other and should never"be too busy" to share where we are at! It is how we stay well.Anyway many blessings coming at my posse and people around us.Last tuesday night my sons girlfriend tried to committ suicide with a heroin and Benzo overdose.Ambulanced to hospital, but refused to stay.Next night wednesday ,Eric says to me"Dad you making meeting tonight?" I said I usually dont on wednesdays ,one of few days I use time for myself to catch up on things ,why?He says ,cause I was going to go with you>BAM!!!I says yup were making 6:30 meeting at Family Partnership. Now for  those of you who know our family story with Eric(23 yr old heroin addict)being so resistant to program and any type of therapy ,this was definitely a breakthru! My christmas gift could not have been any better if I personally ordered it.So we have ben attending meetings for last few days together,Our 12 step literature tells us that it is important "whenever possible to accompany a newcomer to a meeting"Once we have made all the meetings at different places in the area I am looking for him to make them on his own,but for now Its what it is.Fortunately ,his girlfriend was arrested last night for parole violation and is in jail "detoxing" now.Hopefully she will get help she needs. We are praying daily for her strength and "desire" to want to get clean.Christmas was very spiritual for us and we worked hard to make it that.I am well and moving at a rapid pace but always remembering to keep vigilante and focused.I pray all here are well and I wish you a blessed New Year(review your relapse conditions) this can be a weird time of year for us!!No bites on house yet but all in Gods hands.I'll stop back in sooner than later again as it has been said"we are here for each other"!! peace my friends.have a blessed day!!Cool           THE ONLY REQUIREMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP IS THE "DESIRE TO STOP USING'!     powerful!!!!

Mike,

That sounds like great news for your son !!!! Have you tried pointing him in the direction of ha or ca ? They work the steps as outlined in the big book. I will say a little prayer for you both.

Hey MikeF, what a great gift.  Sorry about the girlfriend, but as you said, maybe this will be her 'bottom'. I'm so glad Eric is where he is at the moment.  You show him a great example.  Hope your New Year is a wonderful one.  May at least some of your wishes come through.

today is the next step in the journey......paw

Hello Mike F!

Don't know how I missed this!  Thank you for the message you sent me!  Maybe this is just what Eric needed to wake up!  Hope it works!  Hope the rest of you are doing well also!

Peace be with all of you!
