My drug of choice was only alcohol.  You might try taking a hot shower to try and relax your muscles.  I really don't know how long it takes the pain killers to get out of the system, but if you drink a lot, water, juices, broth.  You have to try and eat something.  If your stomach seems upset, try some light soup, broth, or maybe some crackers. Toast is good if you don't use a lot of butter.  Maybe sprinkle some sugar on it for flavor.

Try to do something to get your mind off of the situation.  Now I know that's better said than done, but if you have to, walk around your living quarters, do a couple of jumping jacks, sit ups, running in place.  If you think your head can stand it, (in case of a head ache or being light headed), try reading or starting a journal.  Get some paper out and draw.

You may want to look up some reading material online.  The Big Book is online for the reading. Great reading from the founders of AA.  Stories to interest anyone.  I don't know if any of this helps, but seriously, you're worth the effort.  Don't give up.  Hang in there.  We're here for you..

Is there anyone that you can call to either talk to or come over and sit with you for awhile?

today is the next step in the journey......paw

Take care of yourself.  There is not a simple answer to detox.  Some of us did it in a hospital, and others alone at home.  But nonetheless, it wasn't easy.  Expect it to be miserable at times, but hey, this isn't the first time your drug has caused you to feel this way.  Drink water and sugar free drinks, maybe try to take something like a benadryl to help you sleep, just anything to readjust your body back to normalcy.  We've been there before, we know it's miserable, but after you get past the first couple of days you are fine!

Living a happy, joyous, and free life by embracing the mind, body, and spirit.
