When I saw that you celebrated 10 yrs, I got to thinking about how long I'd been on this site and how many people I "met" and how many have come and gone. Some I've stayed in touch with while others have just faded away. Today I'm grateful for those that feel this site is a small part of their lives and have decided to come back either on a regular basis or even once in awhile.
Again Ann, congrats on your 10 yrs. You've got a long life ahead of you to enjoy the sobriety.
And Clint, congrats on your rigorous but worthy work over the summer session. Good work pays off. I'll think of you each day as you make the 'big' bucks.......

This summer has been too much. I think, looking back, it wasn't worth taking the nine hours of graduate school in summer session. Way too much, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. On the bright side, I finished my last exam yesterday. Now, I have TWO electives left, and both begin in a couple of weeks. The end is near, and I can't wait. I am making a list of tv shows that I want to start watching in January!
Mike, you have been active a lot lately! I've enjoyed seeing you post a lot more, even if I didn't reply back. It's good that you are sharing a lot. You have a lot of sober time to bring to the group.
We are missing some of the "old gang." Haven't heard from Janice in a while, or Kimmie. Michael has been on through the summer, which is great. What about DJ, does anyone know where he is?

What a blessing..I couldn't figure out who had 10 years when I read Paws reply yesterday.Thought site Doctor still got things moved around.I am so proud of not only your "10 year" mark but how you conitnue to 'KEEP WHAT WE HAVE BY GIVING IT AWAY".I am very happy thru the last almost year and a half I have gotten to know you,I can feel your spirit thru your responses and shares.God bless you and as always I wish you peace!! mike

Way to go,hard work is a blessing for the spirit.When things get 'SHAKY' we can look back and know that by putting our faith in our higher power,being diligent and doing the "work" most situations will work out for the good.I went back to school on the VETERANS G.I. bill and it was very difficult for me ,but I had to maintain a 3.0 *** to get paid from the government,,It was just another area that the God of my understanding sat me down,asked me to "be still and listen' and helped me through.(I got an Associates degree in applied science,ended up with like 90 credits, was taking,Philosophy ,Music theory etc, things I liked,uncle Sam finally said you have to decide to pick a major)...I continue to look back to one of those readings from my text where it says "in recovery ,"lost dreams awaken and new possiblities arise"Man if that isnt the joint !!!!Anyway my darling wanted to go to late church this week (11;00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. so gotta fly..Good job Clint always look forward to hearing from you .Make the most of 'THIS DAY" peace my friend mike

My uncle (a coach/ high school teacher) just retired this year. He is in his 60s. I told him that he needed to go back to school to give him something to do while on retirement. I don't think he will do it, but from my own experience, it really helped me to stay focus on helping myself, and kept me away from doing other things. The last two nights I've stayed up to around 2 a.m. and have slept in during the mornings. I've rented movies, cleaned and cleaned again, and caught up with family and friends. It's nice to be on break, but I have learned that I have to keep myself going. I have trouble staying at home for too long, or my mind starts to wander.
