It was a cold early morning,DECEMBER 2ND ,1984,I came to(awoke in a stupor)from another night of obliteration,at a farm in Rhinebeck New York, where I hung out with other sick and suffering addicts.I was 6 months into my third marriage(the woman who loved me enough to leave me 6 months before we got married),still doing the insanity of doing the same thing expecting different results.Something was different this day(my HP)I knew there were only 2 options continue and die, totally surrender and live.Through the grace and mercy of the God of my understanding I chose ;"LIFE"Please celebrate with me in spirit 25 years 'free and clean of all mind altering mood changing substances on this day December 2nd 2009.My gratitude list is overwhelming but it is topped off by my HP (of whom I choose to call God)My wife who loved me enough to give me another choice other than life or death and believed enough in me that I could make it,my children,my health and my peers in my fellowships that share my "life on lifes term journey with me.Each day I surrender to my God ,the process, try to be part of the solution,to do 5th traditon work(carry the message to the still sick and suffering and 12th step work to try and carry this message thru service, meetings and living my life according to the spiritual principles of the process and the faith beliefs that keeps me walking closer and closer to the God of my understanding.Thank each and every one of you here for your support and your diligence in also carrying the message of recovery. This forum and the people here have been an added blessing in my life as I continue the journey of 'LIFE" peace my friends!!![H]
