Good morning everyone! just stopping in to say hello!

Another day to try and do God's will.As I m sitting at my job yesterday,my friend(only survivor with me back from the wars of addiction) comes in my office and says"did Eric tell you?I said tell us what.He shows me the Ulster county Daily record(acrooss the river from where we live)EricF,23,arrested  for possession of set of works(hyperdermic needle),possesion of controlled substance(empty bags of smack) and stolen property.Needless to say it put a damper on the moment but it was not surprising as his behaviour has been condusive to 'one who is using again"Most likely will go back to jail after hearing in late October. He has been out of the house for about a month now with limited contact. We know that God has a plan for all this and we are okay.I sat with my sponsor and shared with some of my support group.Life keeps coming and we must be ready to step aside and let our higher power(of whom we choose to call God) DO THE WORK.As i share my resentments, fears, anger and love with my sponsor I COULD FEEL THE "PEACE OF gOD " COMING OVER ME AND ALLOWING ME TO "GET OUT OF THE WAY" AND LET THINGS HAPPEN(SOMETHING Sgt. Rock syndrome  makes difficult for this addict)Anyway I will let you all know how it moves forward and thank you all for being part of my 'life saving " support group.I pray you are all taking each day and making it the best it can be.Ann I am praying for your Dad,it is also in Gods hands.PAW,CLINT,MICHAEL,KEITH and all here I miss hearing from you last week or so,obviously we have been a little out of kilter but look forward to the "continued message of "experience ,strength and hope.Have a blessed and productive day!!             mikeCool

Mike, it really saddens me to hear about Eric and your strong faith will get you through it.  Something I sometimes envy.  I haven't found that....yet.....maybe someday....

There's really nothing going on here in my world.  My craving has eased up, boy got his learner's permit and we are in hopes of getting him out in a large parking lot somewhere this weekend to play some.  Took his SAT's saturday, boy how they grow up fast.

Went through some old papers and pictures over the weekend.  Lots of laughs, tears and good memories.

I hold you and your wife in my heart.  When my husband died I got a card from someone that read:  "I don't understand what you're going through, but I do care."

today is the next step in the journey......paw

Hi Mike,, PAT,,and the rest of the Gang, As the old saying goes Mike ,, sometimes we get rescued not arrested. maybe it's for the best. Back in the late 70's early eighty's my brother would have me knock on door's around the neighborhood to see if they wanted to sign up for the home delivery of the daily new's,, if they answered sometimes i would get them to sign and collect ten dollars for my efforts, needless to say they never got a paper if they did,, and if they didn't answer the door my brother would wait for a Jet to take off from Kennedy airport to cover the noise of the glass breaking when we broke in, i grew up on Jamaica bay  just across from the Airport. It was very scary for me in those day's, looking back now i wish i would have gotten caught then because those were the behaviors that led me through the next 30 yrs of my addiction. I lost a lot of friends that traveled the same path as my brother and I. most of them are either dead from A.I.D.S, Getting shot,, over dosed,, or in prison. These day's everybody has a gun. Maybe a rough go behind bars is just what some of us need to wake up and smell the coffee.

PAT AS far as you not getting out of the way and letting GOD take the wheel,, i have to disagree, you do that everyday you wake up and surrender to your disease. your a definite power of example and I for one will not let you sell yourself short. you have been a ray of sunshine for me many times when my world was dark and cold and for that I love you as i do all you guy's. I really mean that it's just not words, it's a fact.

Ann, i havn't read what was going on with your Dad  and for that I'm sorry, But it sounds like it isn't good  i too will keep you in my prayers for the strength to carry on no matter what GOD has in store for you and your Dad. just know we love you here and will be here for you.  have a great week all.  your friend Michael,,,

Hello Everyone!

Mike, sorry to hear about Eric.  Glad you are working your program.  You and your wife are strong!  I'm in the same boat as you right now.  Give it to God.  That is all I can do.  I can't choose what will happen to him.  I can only be there for my dad on his good days and bad.  Do what we can to make him comfortable.  Thank you for the prayer, I will do the same for Eric and your family.

Thank you also Michael!  My dad has cancer.  No cure for it, but it is treatable.  I just need to take it one day at a time.  If I think about it to much, it will make me insane.

Thanks for being there for me PAW!  I appreciate it!

Thank you to you Mike, and Michael for being concerned.

Peace be with you!

Ann,

You are a very strong person.  Your family is in my prayers/ thoughts.  You always tell us here on site, "peace be with you" ... NowI think we need to start saying that to you!  You have a lot of support, and a great program behind you.  Peace be with you!  C

Hey Everyone!

How are all of you doing?  Hope all of you are well!  How was your hunting Mike F?  How was school going Clinton?  What have you been up to PAW and Michael?  We are feeling a little better around here!  We heard my dad will be able to try a new pill and get some shots.  He won't need radiation or Chemo, and they should be able to put it in remission.  We will see how it goes.  Never give up on your higher power!

Peace be with all of you!

Ann that's great news.  Clint, it's good to hear you finished exams.  MikeF, hope the chipmunks leave the eyelets on your boots alone, they used to pick at my hubby's.  I guess they were just shiny enough it peaked their curiosity.  And Michael, as always, hope all is going well for you.

It's good to know that a few of us are keeping tabs.
