Extended Care is a treatment model initiated to further assist newly recovering people. It is often suggested by the Primary Care Facility to those that would benefit from ongoing treatment. Not all people are motivated to follow direction, and circumstances do not permit everyone the opportunity to go to Extended Care. These facilities specialize in providing a deeper level of care for multiple diagnosis individuals (dual-diagnosis), and those that tend to be chronic in drug use(despite prior treatment), and resistant clients. Not all Extended Care Facilities are the same and by using www.sober.com, one can evaluate and determine which is best suited for their needs. The usual time commitment for these types of facilities is 90 days to 6 months, and longer.
