Sober.com Unveils New Technology That Reduces Relapse Occurrence For Those In Recovery From Substance Abuse
Delray Beach, PR News Wire
Sober.com
has released a new product called Sobersystems(TM) -- an Internet-based
recovery management program designed to dramatically reduce relapse
occurrence. Sober.com – a privately held company founded by Harold
Jonas, PhD, LMHC, CAP -- is a leading resource for individuals seeking
products or treatment services related to alcohol and drug
rehabilitation programs, supportive housing, mental health and
addictions counseling.
Sobersystems(TM) closes the
gap that currently exists in aftercare between the discharged client
and the treatment facility. Sobersystems(TM) uses a unique database
system where upon discharge, the recovering individual receives an
identification number on a plastic card that has been programmed with
their personal information. This electronic system allows individuals
to stay closely connected with their primary facility, and thus greatly
reduce the possibility of relapse occurrence.
For
example, a private and secure "recovery journal" is available; a
personal goals calendar, and e-mail address is provided; as well as a
self- assessment instrument that indicate the probability of relapse.
The instrument is called The AWARE Questionnaire; once completed
online, it is immediately scored and the results are automatically
e-mailed to the discharging facility.
If the danger
of relapse is detected, the person in recovery is quickly notified by
e-mail to seek help and their treatment facility is immediately
notified.
"We are finally able to offer the
population in recovery our Sobersystems service that will substantially
reduce relapse occurrence one individual at a time. It's a classic
win-win situation for those in recovery and discharging facilities,"
said Dr. Harold Jonas, Chief Executive Officer of Sober.com.
Sobersystems
allows the recovering individual to access an Internet-based support
system of tools 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-per-week. The system will be
available to both the newly discharged and previously discharged
patients of treatment facilities starting this month.
