Faith Based Programs
Faith-based drug treatment centers offer a unique alternative or addition to the traditional 12-step programs for drug abuse. Some facilities use the 12-step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous as a basis for treatment and add the spiritual component of faith-based counseling. Other sites offer a choice of Christian or 12-step programs.

Many faith-based treatment centers offer a program based on Biblical principles along with detoxification and halfway house options. The course of treatment may include an induction phase where the individual is under 24-hour supervision while developing goals and completing studies in character development. All courses are given in conjunction with Bible study, prayer time, and counseling. Spiritual care is critical to the overall sense of well-being and recovery.

Temporary housing or halfway housing is often part of the faith-based treatment plan. The recovering addict is given assistance in locating employment and/or completing a GED, if necessary. Inspirational activities are a part of the routine for the spiritual development of the individual. Some treatment centers require the recovering addicts to assist in anti-drug seminars through churches, schools, and other organizations within the community.

Many faith-based drug treatment facilities offer both mens and womens treatment options with a full continuum of care. Group meetings where individuals share their experiences, faith, and hope are an integral part of the Christian basis for drug intervention. Counselors are available to lead the resident from a life of addiction to a life of overcoming through Biblical teachings and faith. Daily chapel services and pastoral counseling are included as part of the treatment plan.
